Cambridge Central mosque

Client -D-Line, Architect - Marks Barfield

The new Central Mosque in Cambridge is a spectacular new facility for the Islamic community in the city, and was nominated for a RIBA Stirling prize. Commissioned by D-Line, manufacturers of high quality architectural ironmongery, the brief was to capture the building, and of course their products in situ. A timber framed, sustainable building, its modern approach to decoration makes for a spectacular interior, and a place fit for 21st century worship.

Sadly, the day we were booked, there was torrential rain in the area, and I was unable to photograph the exterior. I hope to return to do this on another occasion.
