FIT FOR THE FUTURE
St George’s Bristol has a reputation for hosting some of the worlds finest musicians of all genres, with acoustics that are also world leading. Until recently, however, it wasn’t able to match this offer in its public spaces. Patel Taylor created a building that, while managing the steeply sloping site, makes the concert hall accessible, provides significantly enhanced facilities including a function room, bar and restaurant facilities, in a design that sits comfortably alongside the Classicism of the original building, despite its modernity.
This film tells the story from both the Client and Architect’s perspectives, and reveals the elegant architecture of the extension.
